Terms of use
The rules for using thatsbuilt.com. Last updated 8 November 2026.
That's Built runs this site ("we", "us"). By using it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. Information, not advice
That's Built brings together information about buildings to help with your own research. It isn't financial, legal, valuation, building inspection or strata advice, and it doesn't tell you whether a building or property is right for you.
Before you buy, rent, lease or rely on anything here, check it yourself. That can mean reading the contract and vendor statement, getting a building inspection and the owners corporation's records, or talking to a lawyer or conveyancer.
2. Where the information comes from
- Open data from councils and governments, listed on our About page with each licence. It can be out of date or wrong, and a record can cover more than one building.
- Public sources such as news stories and company websites, cited on the page. We report what they say, and it isn't a finding by us.
- Our research team, working with AI assistance. Much of what's on the site has been reviewed, but a lot of it hasn't yet been checked by a person, so a page can contain mistakes.
- Our own calculations, such as scores, are a rough guide from the data we hold. Suburb medians describe the suburb, not the building.
- Other people. Reviews and contributions are the views of the people who sent them.
We work to keep pages accurate, but we can't promise that everything is correct, complete or current.
3. Listings and other websites
That's Built isn't a real estate agent. We don't sell, rent, lease or negotiate property, and we aren't part of any deal you make. Listing details come from agents and other people, or are links to other websites. We don't control other websites and aren't responsible for them.
4. Using the site
You're welcome to read the site, link to it and quote small parts with a link back to the page. Please don't:
- copy the site or large parts of it, or collect its data with bots or scrapers, without our written permission (search engines indexing the site are fine)
- interfere with the site or try to get into anything that isn't public
- use the site to break the law or harm someone
- send false, misleading or fake reviews, corrections or listings
5. Who owns what
We own, or have permission to use, the site's design and original content. Open data stays under its own licence, credited on our About page. Other names, marks and linked content belong to their owners.
Maps and Street View come from Google, and your use of them is covered by the Google Maps Terms of Service.
6. What you send us
The contributor terms cover reviews, corrections, photos and anything else you send for publication. Agencies sending listings also agree to the listing data licence. The privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.
7. If something is wrong or unfair
Use Report content or Correct building information. Tell us the page and the problem, and we'll look at it and correct or remove what we should. We may ask for more information.
8. Changes to the site
The site is free and can change. We may add, change or remove pages and features, and it may sometimes be unavailable. If we change these terms we'll update them here and change the date at the top. Changes apply from then on, not to what happened before.
9. Your rights and our liability
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that can't be excluded.
Apart from those rights, and as far as the law allows, we provide the site as it is, without other promises, and we aren't liable for loss that comes from relying on the site or from it being unavailable, including loss of profit or a lost opportunity. Where we're liable for failing to meet a guarantee and the law lets us limit that, our liability is limited to supplying the service again.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria can hear any dispute about them. We'd always rather sort a problem out directly first, so please contact us.
