Know the building before you move in.
That's Built is an independent register of the buildings people live and work in. For each building we cover, we bring together its history, who designed and built it, what's been done to it and who's inside, with links to listings for sale, rent or lease in it, all on one page at the building's address.

Why we built it
Buying, renting or leasing in an apartment or office building is a big decision, and the information you need is spread out: council records in one place, listings on several portals, news coverage somewhere else, and residents' views hard to find at all. A listing describes one unit. A That's Built page covers the building it's in.
How it works
1. Public records
Council building data, permits, planning controls, official addresses, transport and rental data, refreshed automatically.
2. Research
Our researchers and data team look into each building's team, milestones and news coverage, and every fact links to its source. Where sources disagree, we show both.
3. People who know
Agents can send us their listings. Residents, owners, developers and builders can send reviews and corrections, all checked before they go live.
Our principles
- Open and licensed data only. We don't scrape listing portals. Listings come from agents who choose to share them, or from links people submit.
- Facts with sources. Every researched fact is cited, and news is summarised in our own words with a link to the original.
- Fair to everyone. Reviews are moderated and summarised; individuals are never named without permission, and anyone can request a correction or report content.
- No paid placement in the facts. Advertising, if any, is always labelled and never changes a building's record.
