Melbourne Heritage Action criticises hoardings and removal of artwork inside Centreway Arcade
Melbourne Heritage Action's president wrote in March 2021 that construction hoardings had appeared inside the Centreway Arcade and that an important public artwork was being removed, describing this as a loss of heritage value. A Storey of Melbourne post in April 2021 reported that a hidden first-floor artwork had been replaced by a blank wall, and a December 2024 comment described the interior as virtually destroyed and replaced by plain white walls and a lower ceiling.
